Investigative journalist John Solomon has been doing yeoman’s work in shedding light on the DOJ/FBI abuse of the FISA warrant application process and the corruption that engulfs the entire targeting operation of President Trump.
Yesterday, Solomon dropped another bombshell. This one is about a meeting between now chairman of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, Adam Schiff, and a primary witness in the spygate investigation, Fusion GPS founder, Glenn Simpson.
Solomon says he’s seen the pictures.
Fusion GPS was the firm hired by the DNC and Hillary Clinton’s campaign to dig up dirt on Donald Trump. The result was a dossier claiming candidate Donald Trump had colluded with Russia to get elected.
After hounding President Trump and his associates for more than two years, the chairman of the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence, Richard Burr told CBS News:
“If we write a report based upon the facts that we have, then we don’t have anything that would suggest there was collusion by the Trump campaign and Russia.”
It should be noted that No Evidence of Russian Collusion Found wasn’t the lede. Instead Burr’s admission was buried 83 paragraphs into a story titled: Richard Burr on the Senate Intelligence Committee’s Russia investigation, 2 years on.
There’s a reason for this. The dossier was the foundational document for the endless investigations of President Trump and everyone in his orbit, hanging over our president’s head like the Sword of Damocles.
To keep alive the anti-Trumpers’ assault on both the president and the Constitution, the falsity of the myth could not be widely disseminated.
Just as important as perpetuating the foundation lies is the need to keep the myth of Democrats having played no role in the origination of those lies.
In simple English, there was no legal justification to have begun an investigation of Donald Trump or any other American citizen.
It was politically inspired effort made possible with prior certainty that the mainstream media would maintain the lies using all of its considerable powers of persuasion.
So what was the reason behind all of this skulduggery? That has been the subject of much conjecture among Trump supporters but, judging by the players involved, the reason appears to be self-defense.
An effort to keep the depth of DC corruption from ever becoming known.
This deception now would now appear to extend to political hack Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) who chairs the HPSCI.
John Solomon picks up the story:
When Schiff was the committee’s ranking member he demanded the recusal of then chairman Devin Nunes (R-CA) under the pretense that Nunes had meetings with President Trump’s national security council officials without telling the committee’s other members.
Schiff assailed Nunes’s contacts with a source outside the committee confines as “a dead-of-night excursion” and said it called into question the impartiality of the inquiry because the committee wasn’t informed.
“I believe the public cannot have the necessary confidence that matters involving the president’s campaign or transition team can be objectively investigated or overseen by the chairman,” Schiff said at the time.
It seems Nunes became concerned that former President Obama was being updated on the progress of the anti-Trump collusion scandal inside his FBI – perhaps even directing it. And, Obama wanting to minimize the trail, had those updates included in the Presidential Daily Briefs that were for his eyes only.
That would protect him from later investigations, but only if Hillary won.
The purpose of Nune’s visit was to ask permission to enter the White House Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility aka as a SCIF where the PDBs are maintained, to confirm his suspicions.
Once Schiff realized this he knew Nunes had to be silenced.
Under the pretext that Nunes was consorting with President Trump’s team, Schiff demanded Nunes recuse himself.
The fact that Republicans Paul Ryan (Speaker of the House), Mitch McConnell (Senate Majority Leader), and Richard Burr (Chairman of the SSCI) – all privy to the same intelligence as Nunes had been – remained silent in defense of the president tells you just how deep the swamp is.
Which bring us to the issue of some photographs taken at the prestigious Aspen security conference last July.
They show Schiff meeting at the event with Fusion GPS Founder Glenn Simpson, one of the key and most controversial figures in the Russia collusion scandal. Both men insisted to me through spokesmen that they met only briefly last July.
Right, just like Bill Clinton just happened to run into Obama’s Attorney General Loretta Lynch while on the tarmac, each waiting on different planes, and then delaying traffic for an hour while they were exchanging pleasantries.
At the time of the encounter, Simpson was an important witness in the House Intelligence Committee probe who had given sworn testimony about alleged, but still unproven, collusion between Russia and the Trump campaign.
Simpson ran the firm hired by Hillary Clinton’s campaign and the Democratic Party to find dirt on Trump in Moscow. He employed retired British intelligence operative Christopher Steele, whose infamous and unverified dossier became the main evidence for the FBI’s probe of the Trump campaign, particularly the surveillance warrant against Trump campaign adviser Carter Page.
And by the time of the meeting, the House Intelligence Committee had already received evidence from a senior Justice Department official, Bruce Ohr, that called into question Simpson’s testimony to lawmakers.
Specifically, Simpson claimed he had not begun meeting with Ohr until after Thanksgiving 2016, well after the FBI had begun investigating Trump-Russia collusion and after the presidential election in which Simpson’s client, Clinton, lost to Trump.
But Ohr provided compelling evidence, including calendar notations, testimony and handwritten notes, showing that Simpson met with him in August 2016, well before the election and during a time when Steele was helping the FBI start an investigation into Trump.
Read that again:
Simpson claimed he had not begun meeting with Ohr until after Thanksgiving 2016, well after the FBI had begun investigating Trump-Russia collusion and after the presidential election in which Simpson’s client, Clinton, lost to Trump.
Why did Simpson tell such an obvious lie when he knew that Assistant Attorney General Bruce Ohr – Simpson’s DOJ contact – was likely to contradict him during his later testimony?
Likely for the same reason that corrupt Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) took it upon herself to leak Simpson’s entire testimony to the SSCI. To get it into the public consciousness with the help of the openly corrupt mainstream media.
And, perhaps because Adam Schiff asked him to in order to maintain the narrative behind the justification of the ongoing Trump inquiry.
Remember, the HPSCI Democratic memo in response to the Nunes memo, was authored by then ranking member Schiff. In it, Schiff adamantly contradicted the Nunes memo by insisting that Simpson hadn’t pushed the dossier to the FBI and DOJ prior to the election.
AAG Ohr testified, and his calendar confirms, that he had regular contact with Simpson, including being given the dossier, and that he had warned others within the DOJ and FBI about it as early as August – months before the election.
Under his own rule for recusal, why hasn’t Adam Schiff recused himself?
Rep. Mike Conaway, the Texas Republican who took over the Russia probe when Nunes recused himself, told Hill.TV:
“Had the tables been turned and I had been seen at a circumstance like that [meeting with potential witnesses], my guess is [Schiff] would have demanded I had a full conversation as to what I did.”
Notably, neither the Washington Post. the NY Times, or the alphabet soup broadcast and cable news outlets saw fit to report Simpson’s perjury. Meanwhile they maintain the lies giving Schiff full control of the anti-Trump narrative.
