After Trey Gowdy Joins Trump Team, Fox News Betrays Conservatives

Fox News scored a huge coup when they hired Trey Gowdy after he decided to retire from Congress.

Trey couldn’t handle working in the swamp that is Congress – a job he never truly liked and decided to take his talents back to the law.

“Whatever skills I may have are better utilized in a courtroom than in Congress, and I enjoy our justice system more than our political system,” he said at the time.

So it came as a surprise that Fox News was able to hire him as a contributor after he left Congress and it turns out the gig was short-lived.

Now, Fox probably did the right thing here as Trey is officially working to help Trump fight back Pelosi and the Democrats ill-conceived impeachment as many would say it is a conflict.

But with all the conflicts at CNN and MSNBC one wonders… that said, Trey will probably get a lot of face-time on Fox defending Trump as with most DC impeachment’s this will be fought in the media as much as in the halls of Congress.

From The Hollywood Reporter:

The network hired the former congressman at the beginning of the year.

As a former high-profile member of the House of Representatives, Trey Gowdy was a big hire for Fox News, which hired him earlier this year as a contributor.

But, as Gowdy joins President Trump’s team as an outside legal counsel, the network is separating from him.

On Wednesday, a Fox News spokesperson sent a statement to The Hollywood Reporter that read, “Trey Gowdy has been terminated and is no longer a contributor.”

Anchor Melissa Francis announced the president’s appointment and mentioned to viewers that Gowdy “was” a Fox News contributor. He will now be helping the president face down an impeachment inquiry.
