CNN Hires Fired FBI Official Who Is Under Criminal Investigation

CNN has hired a fired FBI official who is still reportedly under criminal investigation for leaking sensitive information to the media and lying about it at least four times to federal investigators.

As noted by The Hill, CNN has hired former FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe, the No.2 at the bureau who played a big role in the Russia witch hunt and the agency spying on President Donald Trump’s 2016 campaign.

CNN media reporter Oliver Darcy made the announcement via Twitter on Friday morning.

Federal prosecutors are not only looking into McCabe possibly illegally leaking sensitive information to the media, he is also reportedly being investigated for playing a role in the FBI’s handling of the Russia probe into Trump.

Investigators are still looking into whether he intentionally lied to investigators about improperly leaking sensitive information to the media a few weeks before the 2016 presidential election.

McCabe, who previously served as the No. 2 at the bureau, played a big role in the Hillary Clinton investigation and the decision to allow the former secretary of state to skirt charges for her illegal actions.

McCabe was fired from the FBI for lying at least four times to investigators about authorizing leaks to the media.

In October 2016, he allowed sensitive information downplaying the severity of the Clinton email scandal to be leaked to The Wall Street Journal.

The DOJ sent a criminal referral for McCabe to prosecutors, who are still reportedly determining whether he should be charged.

McCabe was fired for his “lack of candor” and lying to investigators four times about leaking the information to the media.

That’s not all.

McCabe also admitted earlier this year that he, former Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein, and other top FBI officials met in mid-2017 to discuss using the 25th Amendment to remove President Trump from office.

McCabe wrote in his new book that the meeting and conversation took place after Trump fired former FBI Director James Comey in May 2017.

The 25th Amendment of the Constitution details a procedure where the vice president and a majority of Cabinet members vote to remove a sitting president from office if they deem them unfit to serve.

In Sept. 2018, it was reported that Rosenstein implied to McCabe and other senior officials that he wanted to secretly record conversations he was having with Trump.

Rosenstein also reportedly mentioned the idea of getting members of the Cabinet to invoke the 25th Amendment to remove the president from office for firing Comey.

The allegations are outlined in memos authored by McCabe.

Just let that sink in.

McCabe confirmed that top government officials discussed removing the duly elected president of the United States without him being charged with a single crime.
