House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is nothing more than a far-left activist in lockstep with her party’s mission of impeaching President Donald Trump at all costs simply because they dislike him and can’t defeat him in the 2020 election.
But the California Democrat found herself in big trouble after the No. 2 Republican in the Senate threatened to completely remove her from participating if she didn’t stop playing games.
Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Lindsey Graham slammed Pelosi for waiting almost one month before sending the House-passed articles of impeachment against the president to the Senate.
Graham said if Pelosi continues to play games and/or tries anymore tricks, he thinks the Senate should vote to remove her from the entire process.
“What I would do, if she continues to play games, I would work with Senator McConnell to change the rules of the Senate so we can begin and conclude the trial without her, if necessary,” Graham proposed.
He said McConnell would not let her dictate how events unfold.
“Well, we’re not going to let Nancy Pelosi use the rules of the Senate to her advantage. This is dangerous to the presidency as an institution,” Graham said.
Graham added: “They impeached the president, but the speaker of the House is holding the articles back, trying to extort from the majority leader of the Senate a trial to her liking. They’re trying to hold these articles over the head of the president.”
Graham expressed hope the Senate could conclude the impeachment trial before the end of January, but reiterated that this may require the Senate to push Pelosi out of the equation.
Pelosi has already had a catastrophic start to the new year.
A few days ago, Washington Post congressional reporter Rachael Bade revealed that several Democrats privately admitted that Pelosi’s impeachment gambit was a “failed strategy.”
Bade said the damage had already been done and that several Democrats were “furious” with Pelosi.
“She was clearly putting a positive spin on what a lot of Democrats have privately said was a failed strategy,” Bade said.
She noted how Pelosi and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer were pushing for witnesses and wanted a resolution on the proceedings and “got neither of those.”
Beyond that, Democrats are complaining about McConnell possibly holding an unfair investigation, but that’s literally what they just did for three months.
When Democrats hold Soviet-style trials and limit the other side from having any say at all — there’s no problem at all.
But before the impeachment trial likely moves into the Senate — Democrats are whining, issuing ridiculous demands, and already claiming the process is “rigged.”
Pelosi and Democrats shouted for months in front of every camera that Trump must be impeached to protect the country.
Apparently, it was not all that urgent.
Pelosi refused for nearly a month to send the articles of impeachment to the Senate, which is her constitutional duty.
She caved on Wednesday and finally sent them, but that was after members of her own party started to turn on her.
Democrats have accused Trump of just about everything imaginable, and after months of wasting taxpayer dollars to hold impeachment hearings, they still can’t prove the president did anything wrong.
And McConnell has already revealed exactly what’s going to happen when the impeachment trial begins in the Senate.
