Democrats are panicking behind the scenes and terrified of their chances to defeat President Donald Trump in the 2020 election.
While they are acting confident in public, it appears that Democratic insiders are freaking out behind the scenes that none of the current candidates can beat Trump.
And a bombshell report reveals that Democrat party officials are “begging” former First Lady Michelle Obama to run in 2020.
Washington insiders report that Democratic Party officials are also urging the former first lady to enter the race.
Hence, the overtures to Mrs. Obama, the most admired woman in the country, according to Gallup polls. And not only in the U.S.; according to a YouGov survey, Michelle is the most admired woman in the world.
But would Michelle Obama want to run? And, would she win?
The Obamas are enjoying life in the post-presidential fast lane, frolicking with billionaires and celebrities like Bruce Springsteen, Oprah, David Geffen and Richard Branson, celebrating their new-found freedom on yachts in Tahiti and elsewhere.
They are also celebrating their new-found wealth. Each has reportedly signed book deals worth $60 million, and signed a “high ten-figure” contract to help Netflix produce films. They recently plunked down $15 million for a beachfront home in Martha’s Vineyard; their net worth has been estimated to be between at $40 million and $135 million.
Liz Peek, who authored the Fox News report, went on to suggest that if the former first lady did run, she would be forced to defend her husband’s horrendous record.
Maybe that’s because Democrats now concede that the former president demolished their party; under his leadership, Democrats lost 18 governorships and 816 state legislative seats, 12 seats in the U.S. Senate seats and 64 in the House. Obama left the party politically and financially bankrupt.
Because of those Obama-era losses, President Trump has been able to enact tax and regulation reforms, and appoint hundreds of judges and two Associate Justices of the Supreme Court. Do Democrats really want to travel down that road again.
Peek’s argument is that Michelle Obama may not want to run, but she may feel compelled to do so given Trump has already destroyed much of her husband’s legacy.
Over the summer, conservative talk radio host Rush Limbaugh had a similar theory about Michelle Obama running in 2020.
Limbaugh explained that he believes President Obama sees President Trump dismantling his failed legacy and is furious about it.
As such, President Obama may be intrigued by the idea of Michelle Obama running for president to save his legacy — or what is left of it.
Limbaugh also said he thinks she would only run if the Obamas were convinced her election was a sure thing and that she could actually win.
Adding even more fuel to the fire, Limbaugh actually declared that he believes Michelle will announce a presidential run when the Democratic primaries are wrapping up early next year.
