There’s a major power struggle in the Democratic Party regarding who is calling the shots. Some argue it’s House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, others say it’s clearly Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and her socialist allies.
After several public spats, Pelosi called for a truce with AOC back in July and said they should handle their disagreements behind closed doors, not in public.
Just a few months after Pelosi’s “offer,” Ocasio-Cortez has gone public to utterly trash the Democratic Party and it’s leadership.
AOC took to Twitter on Saturday to argue that House Democrats’ unwillingness to impeach President Donald Trump is more scandalous than anything the president has done in his presidency.
Ocasio-Cortez and other socialist Democrats in the House have practically begged Pelosi to begin impeachment proceedings right now, and she went public with the calls over the weekend.
“At this point, the bigger national scandal isn’t the president’s lawbreaking behavior — it is the Democratic Party’s refusal to impeach him for it,” she said in a tweet to her followers.

AOC calling out her own party comes after Pelosi held a closed door meeting with the progressive wing of the Democratic Party back in July and told them to “stop tweeting.”
Pelosi called on them to address their intraparty grievances privately rather than blasting their colleagues on Twitter.
Pelosi’s comments, which were described as stern, came after Ocasio-Cortez and others attacked centrist Democrats for voting in favor of the emergency border funding bill.
“So, again, you got a complaint? You come and talk to me about it,” Pelosi told Democrats. “But do not tweet about our members and expect us to think that that is just OK.”
The closed-door meeting was reportedly so contentious that after Pelosi’s remarks, Texas Democratic Rep. Henry Cuellar spoke up to complain that lawmakers shouldn’t attack each other unless they’re paying party dues.
“If somebody has a problem, pay your dues before you start attacking other Democrats,” he said.
And just a few months later, Ocasio-Cortez is back to blasting her own party on social media.
This is another not-so-subtle reminder to many that Pelosi has completely lost control of her party.
After refusing to take any action against Ocasio-Cortez and her “The Squad,” it’s clear that Pelosi is no longer calling the shots.
Now, the vultures are circling. And soon enough, the entire Democratic Party could be run by socialists.
And Pelosi is the only one to blame for allowing this to happen to her party.
