The Democratic-controlled House of Representatives passed both articles of impeachment — obstruction of Congress and abuse of power — against President Donald Trump last month.
House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff led the Democrats impeachment inquiry and hearings, and he did a fantastic job proving Democrats have no case at all.
But after one of Schiff’s star witnesses in the impeachment inquiry got exposed during the hearings, he’s officially leaving his post.
William Taylor, who led the U.S. Embassy in Ukraine and was a key impeachment witness, has officially been replaced.
The embassy said in a Thursday tweet that Kristina Kvien, who was previously the deputy chief of mission, has taken over Taylor’s role as the mission’s interim head.
Kvien said in the video posted to Twitter that U.S. support for Ukraine would remain “steady” under her leadership.
“Our embassy team will continue to partner closely with the Ukrainian government and civil society in support of Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity,” she said.

Taylor officially left his position on Jan. 1 and Kvien will replace him.
A senior State Department official reportedly asked Taylor to give up command of the embassy Jan. 1.
For the time being, Taylor remains a State Department employee, but has returned to Washington, the source said.
During the impeachment hearings, it was revealed that Taylor has suspicious and concerning ties to the same Ukrainian gas company at the center of the Biden-Ukraine scandal.
Taylor has a close relationship with the Atlantic Council think tank and previously wrote Ukraine policy pieces with the organization’s director and analysis articles published by the Council.
The Atlantic Council is funded by and works in partnership with Burisma, the natural gas company at the center of allegations regarding Joe Biden and his son, Hunter Biden.
Taylor for the last nine years also served as a senior adviser to the U.S.-Ukraine Business Council (USUBC), which has co-hosted events with the Atlantic Council and has participated in events co-hosted jointly by the Atlantic Council and Burisma.
The links may be particularly instructive after Breitbart News reported that itinerary for a trip to Ukraine in August organized by the Burisma-funded Atlantic Council for ten Congressional aides reveals that a staffer on Rep. Adam Schiff’s House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence held a meeting during the trip with Taylor.
The pre-planned trip took place after the so-called whistleblower officially filed his August 12 complaint and reportedly after a Schiff aide was contacted by the so-called whistleblower.
Burisma — the corrupt gas company who paid Hunter Biden $50,000 a month while his father, Joe, served as vice president — is a key financial backer of the Atlantic Council.
So Taylor has been connected to the think tank for nearly a decade. And the think tank has been heavily invested and partnered with the Ukrainian gas company Burisma for even longer.
Things have gotten so bad for Democrats that members of their own party are staging a revolt.
Schiff is so incompetent that he released a transcript with the name of the alleged whistleblower.
