They’re coming – and 380 sheriffs have a plan to stop them.
Things are getting much worse on the border. According to a new report, a caravan-size of new migrants are arriving at the Rio Grande, every week.
From Fox News:
A caravan-size influx of migrants is flooding across the border each week in just a single sector, a top Border Patrol official told lawmakers Tuesday — the latest indicator of the growing migration crisis on the southern border.
A caravan per week? That would put us at over 50 caravans in just a year!
The crisis is real, folks, don’t you agree?
Democrats tried to ignore it. The media said Trump was lying about the crisis, but now even Democrats are admitting it’s gotten very bad.
If serious action is not taken right away, our border will be meaningless and we will cease to have a country.
So more leaders on the front lines from around our country are taking action.
And now a group of over 380 sheriffs is making a massive demand on Congress. From Newsweek:
Hundreds of sheriffs from 40 states have called on Congress to fund President Donald Trump’s initiative to build a border wall between the U.S. and Mexico.
“Without border security and immigration reform, more Americans will continue to be victims of crime. Now is the time to act,” a letter signed by 380 sheriffs said.
Without a border wall, more Americans will be victims of crime, they said.
No surprise there!
Countless Americans have suffered as a result of our weak border. Families have been torn apart; lives have been lost.
Meanwhile, Congress ignores the issue and wastes time.
And because Congress isn’t taking action, sheriffs made a bold statement to Congress, one they’d be wise to hear:
If they don’t build the wall, the public won’t trust them anymore. That trust is the very thing that holds our Republic together.
If we can’t trust that our lawmakers are doing what’s best for our country, our country will be in real danger.
We need to know that Washington is doing everything in its power to protect us. Today, that is not the case.
Only some of our leaders—Trump and his allies—are even trying to end the crisis. The rest of the swamp dwellers stick their fingers in their ears.
