Attorney General William Barr has arguably been the most effective official President Donald Trump has nominated since taking office.
Democrats loathe him because he has been fighting back against corrupt actors in the D.C. swamp who are determined to thwart the president’s agenda.
But the AG just kicked things up a notch this week that will undoubtedly send liberals further over the edge.
While speaking at a conference hosted by the Federalist society, Barr warned Democrats that their attempts to sabotage Trump will not be tolerated.
Barr accused congressional Democrats of “sabotaging” the Trump administration by implying that the government in power is illegitimate.
Consider this: Democrats are breaking so many rules and norms to remove the duly elected president that the attorney general felt compelled to speak out about that.
That has never happened before, and it’s a huge deal that Barr assured the American people that Democrats endless attempts to impeach Trump over nothing will fly while he’s leading the DOJ.
“I deeply admire the American presidency as a political and constitutional institution,” Barr said. “Unfortunately over the past several decades, we have seen a steady encroachment on executive authority by the other branches of the government.”
Barr said the Democrats’ constant attempts to derail Trump administration appointees have done nothing but “incapacitate” the executive branch.
“Immediately after President Trump won the election, opponents inaugurated what they called the ‘resistance,’ and they rallied around an explicit strategy of using every tool and maneuver to sabotage the functioning of the executive branch and his administration,” Barr said.
“The cost of this constant harassment is real,” he continued.
Barr claimed that while Trump’s presidency is anything but normal, the public knew what to expect.
“The fact is, that, yes, while the president has certainly thrown out the traditional beltway playbook and punctilio, he was upfront about what he was going to do and the people decided that he was going to serve as president,” he said.
Barr’s comments are simple: the Democrats have decided to ignore the will of the people and have fought Trump tooth and nail for three years instead of working with him to benefit Americans.
The AG has also been very busy lately getting major things done.
Earlier this month, we learned that Barr and Durham flipped former FBI general counsel James Baker, who is now working with the DOJ and assisting in the probe.
Baker is important to this whole investigation because he was the one who initially leaked the information that led to the probe against then-National Security Adviser Michael Flynn.
Before that, the DOJ announced that an administrative review of the Russia investigation has shifted into a criminal inquiry.
This means that Barr and Durham now have the power to subpoena for witness testimony and documents, to convene a grand jury, and to file criminal charges.
It certainly appears that Barr and Durham have already found evidence of criminal wrongdoing regarding the FBI’s surveillance of the Trump campaign in 2016.
They wouldn’t have turned their investigation into criminal inquiry if there wasn’t evidence of Obama officials potentially breaking the law.
While Democrats are trying to reverse the results of the 2016 election — Barr is assuring Americans that he won’t allow corrupt and rogue actors to take down Trump simply because they do not like him.
