President Donald Trump has made combating illegal immigration a cornerstone of his presidency and 2020 campaign.
The president’s administration has been working tirelessly for almost three years to secure the border, build more of the wall, and reduce the number of illegal aliens crossing into the United States.
Trump has signed a number of executive orders giving Border Patrol agents and immigration agencies more funding and resources to identify and apprehend illegal aliens in the country.
And an explosive new report this week reveals the Trump administration has had a massively successful year.
U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement and the Homeland Security Investigations division achieved record-breaking totals across the board, including over 37,000 criminal arrests.
ICE announced the impressive results attained over the past year, which includes the eye-popping number that 37,547 illegal criminal aliens were arrested in that time period.
“During fiscal year 2019, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s and Homeland Security Investigations effectively combated transnational criminal threats against the United States resulting in a record-breaking number of criminal arrests,” the agency statement reads.
Here’s a breakdown of the arrests:
- 5,750 individuals allegedly involved in human smuggling
- 2,197 accused of human trafficking
- 3,957 accused of child predation
- 2,198 tied to identity and benefit fraud
- 3,886 for alleged involvement in gang-related violations
- 12,450 lbs. of opioids seized
- 145,000 lbs. of meth seized
Over the course of the year, the agency also “identified and/or assisted 428 victims of human trafficking” and “rescued or identified 1,069 victims” of child predation.
HSI also announced the seizure of more than $775 million in currency and assets as a result of its operations.
In its release, ICE explained that not many are aware of HSI even though the division played a significant role in these astounding numbers.
“HSI is the principal investigative component of the Department of Homeland Security with more than 9,800 employees, including over 6,700 special agents and 700 intelligence analysts, assigned to more than 210 cities throughout the U.S. as well as 78 offices in 52 countries,” the agency explained.
ICE and HSI’s recent report was lauded by Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security Chad Wolf.
“Great work by [ICE’s] Homeland Security Investigations team. They lead US efforts to protect children from online predators. Everyday heroes protecting our most vulnerable,” Wolf said.
Thanks to ICE and HSI, Americans can rest assured that countless American heroes are working tirelessly around the clock to protect national security and public safety.
This also comes after a recent report that the Trump administration expects at least 450 new miles of the wall to be built by the end of 2020.
Democrats are going to keep trying their hardest to stop Trump from getting this done — but just like all of their other stunts, they will fail.
