California Rep. Maxine Waters is not the sharpest tool in the shed, but when she gets humiliated in front of the world it is entertaining.
That is what happened last week when the “Impeach 45” cheerleader was duped by a pair of Russian pranksters named Vladimir Kuznetsov and Alexey Stolyarov.
On YouTube they go by the names Vovan and Lexus and have pranked many famous people and politicians before.
In this prank they convinced Rep. Waters that she was talking to 16-year-old climate activist Greta Thunberg and her dad.
The pranksters said that they, as Thunberg and her dad, were at a Climate summit in North Carolina to save the Chan-Go Chango Islands which do not exist.
“Chon-Go-Chango?” Water said to “Thunberg.” “That island is particularly threatened?”
“Yes,” “Thunberg” said. And then she asked Rep. Waters to get on speakerphone and address the audience at the fake conference.
“Hello everybody. This is Congresswoman Maxine Waters and I am so pleased to be on this telephone call with Greta Thunberg.
“I am just so proud of he and her father Svante Thunberg and the work that they are doing. As you know, Greta is an environmental activist and she took part in the United Nations Climate Summit in New York recently.
“And she has been travelling and she has been the greatest advocate for what is happening with our climate and the environment.
“And I’m very pleased that she is with you in North Carolina where you’re focusing on protecting the very important island of Chula Change.”
“And so I could just go on and tell you that I believe that she certainly should win the Nobel peace Prize for what she is doing,” she said.
She could not even get the names of the fake islands correct, but she said she was committed to helping them.
That is when the fake Thunberg and her fake dad said that they had dirt on President Donald Trump that could damage him in his impeachment trial and Rep. Waters was thrilled.
“It was a really terrible meeting in the U.N. building in September with him. And I had nightmares afterwards. It’s terrible,” “Thunberg” said.
“I saw him in the hallway. He was with security and I shouted at him, ‘Sign the Paris Climate Agreement again!’ He came over, he leaned in towards me, and said softly, ‘Listen carefully to me, little girl. You will never achieve your goal, like the congressional goal, trying to accuse me,’” the pranksters, posing as Thunberg, said.
“He said you will never achieve your goal? Oh my goodness.” Waters said. “Did you ask him if he would rethink signing the Paris Climate Agreement? Is that your question to him?”
“Yes, yes,” “Thunberg” said. “He added that … ‘You know what? I’ll tell you the truth. I really wanted to push the Ukraine president to put my competitor on trial.’”
“He said to her, ‘You know, little girl, nobody believe you anyway, I will tell you the truth. I really pushed on Ukrainian president and you know that you will never achieve your goals like those congressional fools who accuse me,” he fake dad said to Waters. “So nobody will believe you. You will be on trial like my competitor.”
“Oh, my God! He mentioned Ukrainian president?” Waters excitedly said.
“Yes, he said that,” “Thunberg” said. “And he added, ‘Nobody will believe you anyway.,’” as the man posing as her dad said they had the conversation recorded.
“Are you going to be in Washington anytime soon? I want you to come meet with me in Washington,” Waters said.
“We’re going to try everything that we have to impeach him. Yes. And if the public knew that he talked to Greta like that, he made her cry, and told her she would never achieve, this would go against him too,” the representative said.
“And he added that he pushed on the Ukrainian president,” her “dad” said. “I think he didn’t expect that we have a record of that.”
“Well, you bring it to me,” Waters said. “You tell me what day you can get there and we’ll arrange to meet with you as quickly as we can. … I will make myself available whenever you get there.”
