Nancy Pelosi Given Ultimatum That Will Change Her Entire Life

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has been working behind the scenes for awhile to impeach President Donald Trump.

While she has been trying to hold off on making a move until Democrats have an “ironclad” case, Pelosi was just presented with an ultimatum that will change her entire life.

Pelosi understands that impeachment will have backfiring consequences on the Democrats in the 2020 election, but now she may have no choice but to move forward.

Over half of Democrats now support impeachment, meaning they are closer than ever to impeaching the president in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Her ultimatum is a lose-lose.

If she allows an impeachment vote, she’ll push voters to Republicans. If she blocks the vote, her own party will turn on her.

CNN reports, “A majority of House Democrats are now on record publicly supporting an impeachment inquiry into President Donald Trump, according to a CNN count — a sign of momentum for pro-impeachment lawmakers that is likely to ramp up pressure on House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and House Democratic leaders.”

This is nothing short of a political disaster for Pelosi and could result in her being voted out of office.

It shows that she has lost control of her own party in Congress and that Americans may vote them out of office in the upcoming election.

It almost certainly guarantees the president’s re-election in 2020.

And Pelosi knows it, too.

“The current number of impeachment backers may not necessarily, or immediately, change the calculation for House Democratic leadership on how to proceed as Democrats continue their investigations into the President and his administration. But it nevertheless shows that support among Democrats on Capitol Hill for an inquiry is continuing to grow,” adds CNN.

Pelosi has also tried to run out the clock on impeachment and hold off as long as possible.

“I’m not trying to run out the clock,” the California Democrat told reporters recently, adding, “We will proceed when we have what we need to proceed, not one day sooner,” and saying, “Everybody has the liberty and the luxury to espouse their own position and to criticize me for trying to go down the path in the most determined positive way. Again, their advocacy for impeachment only gives me leverage.”

All of this has put Pelosi in an unimaginably difficult position.

She can appease her party and allow them to vote on impeachment, but it will likely backfire and only help Republicans in the election.

If she does nothing, her own party will probably turn on her.

“Pelosi has downplayed the possibility of impeachment since Democrats took over the majority in January, but has also vowed that the party will hold the President accountable through rigorous oversight of the administration,” concludes CNN.

While Pelosi has held off as long as possible, Democrats want Trump removed now.

And now Democrats are closer than ever before to having enough votes to impeach Trump in the House.

That would be a total nightmare for Pelosi, who knows that impeachment proceedings will only help the president going into the 2020 election.
