A major Democratic donor who has given thousands of dollars to Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton has been arrested and charged with running a drug house.
Two young black men have been found dead in the past 18 months inside the apartment of Ed Buck, a 64-year-old white millionaire who has spent decades donating serious money to prominent Democrats — including Obama and the Clintons.
Buck was arrested on Tuesday night and charged in California for allegedly operating a drug house after three black men connected to Buck have overdosed on methamphetamines over the last two years in his apartment.
Activists have been calling for Buck’s arrest, believing him responsible for the deaths of Gemmel Moore, 26, and Timothy Dean, 55. Both black gay men were found in Buck’s West Hollywood’s apartment less than two years apart.
Lacey’s office said Tuesday that Buck has now been charged with operating a drug house and providing meth to a 37-year-old man who overdosed last week.
He was charged with one felony count each of battery causing serious injury, administering methamphetamine and maintaining a drug house. Authorities say Buck injected the victim with meth on Sept. 11 at Buck’s home in the 1200 block of Laurel Avenue in West Hollywood. The man suffered an overdose but survived.
Buck is due in court Wednesday to respond to three counts of battery and injecting the alleged third victim with methamphetamine on Sept. 11.

Buck is well-known for allegedly using young, poor African-American men and exploiting them.
He reportedly pays these young men to use dangerous amounts of drugs while he watches and engages in sexual acts with them when they are under the influence.
Buck isn’t a small-time donor — he is a major political player for Democrats.

Buck has donated over $116,000 in the last decade to Democrats — including $1,500 to former President Barack Obama’s 2008 and 2012 campaigns and $4,850 to Hillary Clinton’s failed 2016 bid.
But his donations aren’t the issue, it’s the fact that two black men have been found dead in his home after they were hired as prostitutes and allegedly died from crystal methamphetamine overdoses in his home.
In the most recent incident, Buck allegedly brought a black man to his home earlier this month and injected him with methamphetamine.
A week later, the man returned to Buck’s home and was injected again and suffered an overdose.
Prosecutors say Buck tried preventing the man from attempting to get help, but he escaped the apartment and reportedly called for help from a nearby gas station.
He survived but was treated at a hospital.
In July 2017, Buck bought a plane ticket for a 26-year-old man named Gemmel Moore to fly from his home in Texas to his apartment in West Hollywood, California.
Within 24-hours, Moore had died of an overdose.
Moore’s body was found beside “multiple syringes with brown residue, a scale, several lighters and torches, a straw with white residue and burn marks, plastic bags with whiter powdery residue and a clear plastic bag containing a crystal-like substance,” according to the complaint and an autopsy report.
Police say the death was an accident, but Moore’s mother, La Tisha Nixon, is going public with some shocking evidence.
In her 12-count civil complaint against Buck, Nixon added new charges against the Democratic donor: human trafficking and distribution of private sexually explicit materials.
In January 2019, less than 18 months later, another black man died in Buck’s apartment the exact same way.
Buck paid a 55-year-old man named Timothy Dean to come to his apartment for another escapade, and it ended with the black man dying in the exact same way — an overdose.
