Sunni Islam’s highest authority, Ahmed el-Tayeb, believes that Christian converts should be “killed” and has said so on several occasions.
Ahmed el-Tayeb was interviewed in 2016 where he spoke out against Western values, homosexuality and leaving Islam.
On Monday Pope Francis visited the Middle East where he embraced Sunni Sheikh Ahmed el-Tayeb.
