If you thought that Democrats were going to quit in their quest to get rid of President Donald Trump you were incorrect.
California Rep. Adam Schiff, the ring master and court jester of the first impeachment, is hinting that another one could be coming.
His comments came after President Donald Trump talked about the harsh sentencing recommendations for former associate Roger Stone.
“Roger Stone lied to the House Intelligence Committee and threatened a witness in an effort to cover up candidate Trump’s efforts to communicate with Wikileaks in releasing the Russian-hacked emails. He was found guilty on all charges,” he said.
“If reports are correct, the Department of Justice and Attorney General Bill Barr are poised to overrule career prosecutors who made a sentencing recommendation yesterday, following a midnight tweet from the President attacking the proposed length of sentence.
“I do not take a position on the proper prison term for Mr. Stone, but it would be a blatant abuse of power if President Trump has in fact intervened to reverse the recommendations of career prosecutors at the Department of Justice,” the representative said.
“Doing so would send an unmistakable message that President Trump will protect those who lie to Congress to cover up his own misconduct, and that the Attorney General will join him in that effort.
“Coupled with the President’s blatant retaliation against those who helped expose his wrongdoing, the Trump Administration poses the gravest threat to the rule of law in America in a generation,” he said.
They want Barr to resign and they want to impeach the president again, but they had no issue when former Attorney general Eric Holder described himself as the wingman of former President Obama.
It is not about justice or any type of crime that the president committed, because he did not commit any crime.
What it is about is the desire for power that Democrats have.
“Adam Schiff seems to believe everything Trump does is an abuse of power,” constitutional attorney Curt Levey said to The Daily Signal.
“Democrats will be smart enough not to impeach him again for the same charge,” he said. “But if we take Schiff at his word—which might be a mistake—even if it was a legitimate acquittal, if he thinks the Senate trial was a sham that would give Democrats even more standing in their minds to impeach again.”
But the enemies of the president want to use any reason to impeach him again. That includes George Conway, the husband of Kellyanne Conway, who said in a piece in the Washington Post that he wants to impeach President Trump for firing Army Lt. Col. Alexander Vindman.
“As we’ve now seen, his rage leads to retribution and misconduct, which beget more criticism, and more investigation, and even more rage, retribution and misconduct,” he said. “So America beware: The state is Trump, and he’s very, very angry. We might, indeed, have to do it again.”
President Trump had every right to fire Vindman but that does not matter to his detractors. They just want him to pay for his crime of winning the 2016 presidential election.
