We all know the Democrats are still bitter about Donald Trump’s successes as president.
One of the biggest achievements by President Trump is his appointment of two Supreme Court justices.
Those new justices give the Supreme Court a conservative majority—for the first time in decades. The Democrats did all they could to prevent that majority. They even want as far as to harm the reputation of a good man and the entire Kavanaugh family.
That failed, so now they’ve been threatening the court to vote their way, or else face “restructuring.”
This appalling violation of the separation of powers demanded a response. And every last Republican senator had it and decided to do something about it.
From Fox News:
All 53 Republican senators joined together Thursday to call out their Democratic colleagues for what they described as a left-wing “assault” on judicial independence in reference to a recent brief they said amounted to a threat to pack the court…
“The implication is as plain as day: Dismiss this case or we’ll pack the Court,” the Republicans said, claiming that the Democrats’ brief is an example of how “judicial independence is under assault.”
Unanimous consent – all 53 Republican Senators. You know things are serious when there isn’t a single Republican on the fence about it. We all know how wishy-washy politicians can be in Washington, but no – the Republican are VERY clear.
The Supreme Court is a separate branch of our federal government.
That means senators have no right to try to sway their rulings, especially on important cases.
But Democrats were trying to intimidate the court with their threat of packing it with more justices.
This is a disgusting attempt by one branch of government to control another. It violates the very principles of our Constitution.
But recent years have shown that Democrats want control at any cost. They have tried to undermine every last value of our country. From the Electoral College to lawsuits against executive orders, to this, Democrats appear to care very little about how our country should be run.
Republicans are standing up to them at last. They called out Senate Democrats for trying to strong-arm the Supreme Court.
They wrote the court, “must not be cowed by the threats of opportunistic politicians.”
Even Ruth Bader Ginsburg is against the left’s tactics, saying that packing the court was a bad idea.
It’s shocking to think what depths the left will stoop, just to grab back what they lost in 2016.
But thanks to Republicans in the Senate, it’ll be a cold day in hell before they get their way.
Thank You Senators!
