SHOCK: Mitch McConnell RECUSAL Announcement

The Democrat-controlled U.S. House of Representatives will officially vote on articles of impeachment against President Donald Trump this week.

After dropping two of the original charges they levied against the president, House Democrats have decided they will vote to charge Trump with obstruction of Congress and abuse of power.

Assuming the House votes to impeach Trump, the impeachment trial will then move to the Republican-controlled Senate — and Democrats are already trying to stage a coup.

During an interview on MSNBC’s “The Last Word,” California Democrat Rep. Karen Bass demanded that Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell recuse himself from the impeachment trial to be held in the upper chamber.

“The leader of the Senate has basically said he is in lockstep, and he is going to coordinate with the defendant,” Bass told host Ari Melber.

“And so, if you can imagine going into a courtroom in a trial and the foreman of the jury says, well, I’m working with the person that’s being accused of the crime. And so, it’s completely inappropriate,” she added.

She theatrically concluded, “McConnell should recuse himself. But I really think it speaks to the way that Trump, the whole way he has gone about his presidency, he’s kind of infected and contaminated the culture, where the Senate president can feel emboldened enough that he can say, ‘Yes, I’m going to put my foot on the scale.’ I mean, boldly said that he’s co-coordinating with the White House.”

Obviously this is nothing more than Democrats trying to cry foul before impeachment dies in the Senate.

Will the Democrat-controlled House vote to impeach Trump this week? More than likely.

Will Trump be completely acquitted and fully exonerated in the Senate? Yes.

Will McConnell recuse himself from leading the Senate impeachment trial into Trump? Not a chance.

There’s a zero percent chance that McConnell recuses himself because he has absolutely no reason to.

If Democratic Reps. Adam Schiff and Jerry Nadler could lead partisan, closed-door, secret impeachment hearings in the House — there’s no chance McConnell will or should recuse himself.

But her request isn’t unusual because Democrats want all Republicans to recuse themselves from politics.

Bass and others are complaining about McConnell possibly holding an unfair investigation, but that’s literally what Democrats just did for three months.

When Democrats hold Soviet-style trials and limit the other side from having any say at all — there’s no problem at all.

But almost one month before the impeachment trial likely moves into the Senate — Democrats are whining, issuing ridiculous demands, and already claiming the process is “rigged.”

Finally, the other team is up to bat and Democrats are screaming that the trial — which has not even happened — it totally unfair.

But beyond that, this is another example proving Democrats have no case.

They have accused Trump of just about everything imaginable, and after months of wasting taxpayer dollars to hold impeachment hearings, they still can’t prove the president did anything wrong.

And McConnell has already revealed exactly what’s going to happen when the impeachment trial moves into the Senate in January.
