Just days after House Speaker Nancy Pelosi announced that Democrats in the House will be ramming ahead with impeachment, the first Republican just went public with his support for removing President Donald Trump from office.
Vermont Republican Gov. Phil Scott became the nation’s first Republican this week to support congressional Democrats’ impeachment inquiry against Trump.
Scott, a prominent Never-Trumper who has been against the president for years, said Congress possesses a “solemn responsibility” to hold the president accountable.
In a statement released on Wednesday, Scott argued that while an impeachment probe is “appropriate,” lawmakers on Capitol Hill must further investigate the matter before reaching a conclusion whether to oust the president.
“Like many across the country, I find these statements offensive, racist and certainly not what we expect from the leader of the greatest country in the world,” he said.
“Words matter, and we’ve seen this same rhetoric used throughout history to discriminate, degrade and divide,” he continued.
He added that kids “need to know that racism and hate speech are unacceptable.”

His comments are in response to a whistleblower complaint regarding a phone call Trump had with the Volodymyr Zelensky, who was the president-elect when the call took place back in July.
Democrats and the media have been going ballistic over Trump’s call with Zelensky, where the so-called “whistleblower” alleges potential illegal actions took place.
On this call, Trump reportedly asked the Zelensky to investigate former Vice President Joe Biden and his son, Hunter, over shady business dealings with a Ukrainian gas company.
This week, the White House released a 5-page transcript of the call, which does not mention anything about “quid pro quo” or the U.S. withholding aid to Ukraine if they did not investigate Biden.
The Department of Justice also announced on Tuesday evening that it opted not to investigate Trump over the phone call.
Since Pelosi’s impeachment announcement, the Democrats entire plan has imploded.
A bombshell report dropped on Fox News that the alleged “whistleblower” who filed a complaint against Trump is biased against him.
During a segment on Fox News with host Sean Hannity, network contributor Ed Henry reported that the Office of Intelligence Community Inspector General found that the “whistleblower” had a “political bias” in favor of one of Trump’s rivals in the 2020 presidential election.
Democrats allege Trump is violating the law by refusing to hand over the IG report to Congress, which is why Pelosi claims Democrats will begin an impeachment inquiry.
But it turns out that this “whistleblower” — which Democrats are placing all of their faith in — has a clear bias against Trump and supports a 2020 Democratic presidential candidate.
Here’s the cherry on top: the whistleblower who filed the complaint did not even hear the phone call between Trump and the Ukrainian president.
That’s right — this so-called whistleblower filed a complaint about a call that they never heard, and Democrats are demanding Trump be impeached over a call that they also never heard.
